Artist's Name: Sarah Carlson
Paddle Title: “Deep Water By The Shore”
Meaning of Paddle Design: This paddle features the artist's interpretation of Obabika Lake in the Temagami region, homeland of the Teme-Augama Anishnabai. The thick impasto paint and vibrant colour palette of this composition, speak to the dynamic ecosystems of the n’Daki Menan region which is also home to large concentrations of old growth red and white pines. This painting reflects the artist’s love and gratitude for the area as well as for the privilege to paddle the ancient canoe routes.
