BRINGING US ALL TOGETHER…ONE STROKE AT A TIME
The Canoe Foundation website can display the contribution value of each item in either Canadian or US funds, by accessing the drop down menu in the top right corner of each page.
All Contributions for a Paddle or for General Contributions can be made on our site using either Visa, MasterCard, or PayPal.
These options incur a credit card processing fee, so a portion of your contribution doesn’t reach Canoe Foundation.
To avoid these processing fees, you can forward the funds by Interac e-transfer to the email address canoefoundation@gmail.com , and by following the process explained next.
If you are making a contribution for a Paddle, in the message section, include the Paddle description you’ve selected, as well as the shipping details…name, address, phone number and email address. Canoe Foundation is the social enterprise division of Canoe Corporation Inc.
Another option for avoiding the processing fees, is to send a cheque (Canadian) or check (US dollars). Pay to the order of Canoe Foundation, and mail to: 35 Church St. Stoney Creek, Ontario L8E 2X7 Canada. Include a note explaining the description of the Paddle you have selected, as well as the shipping details…name, address, phone number and email address. Use the Contact Us form to advise us that you are sending a cheque (check), so we can put the paddle you’ve selected on hold until the cheque (check) arrives.
If you wish to give us a call to chat about what your best options are, or if you wish to place your order over the phone, please give us a call at 1-905-662-4994. If it is after hours or the phones are busy, please leave a phone message and we will return your call as soon as we are able.
Contributions made for a Canoe Foundation Paddle, are not eligible for a tax receipt as the value of the paddle is equal to the value of the contribution.
Other contributions (General Contributions) made allowing us to further support Indigenous climate solutions are also not eligible for a tax receipt for the reason below.
We have strategically not established Canoe Foundation as a registered charity, to allow us the freedom to advocate for and fund those causes and organizations that are challenging the status quo...the politically and financially powerful and privileged who in many cases enable the very ecological destruction we are all working to stop.
Our fundraising initiative allows us to avoid being vulnerable to political or commercial interests.
This ensures your contribution reaches those making a difference.
Unlike many Beltway foundations or organizations, Canoe Foundation is organized to minimize overhead costs and ensure that the maximum amount of your contribution reaches those making a difference.
Our revenue stream is twofold…the contributions from the Canoe Foundation Paddle Project and other contributions classified as General Contributions.
For Canoe Foundation to acquire one of our handmade Paddles requires us to pay to have the Paddle made and shipped to us. To simplify your ordering process, we pay any taxes, duties and provide free shipping (see below for more details). We then package your Paddle of choice in a secure box and arrange shipping to your address. The values of our Paddles vary quite widely, so depending on the Paddle you choose, 50% - 80% of your contribution for a Paddle goes towards funding Indigenous climate action.
Other contributions (General Contributions) will see approximately 85% of those funds reaching those on the front lines.
The bottom line is that 100% of our profits from all contributions help fund Indigenous climate action.
We endeavour to ship all orders within 24 hours.
All orders will be shipped free by prepaid ground to most US States and Canadian Provinces. Free shipping does not apply to Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and off shore locations. Please contact us for freight rates to these locations.
We use either Canada Post or UPS Ground for all shipments.
All the Paddles that we display on our site are finished and sealed with a high gloss polyurethane, which would mean that technically they could certainly stand up to being used to paddle a canoe on whatever body of water you choose.
However, these Paddles are really designed to be displayed as pieces of art using the wall mount paddle holder that is shipped out with each Paddle.
