BRINGING US ALL TOGETHER…ONE STROKE AT A TIME
Canoe Foundation evolved from the confluence of the peace, social justice, environmental and Indigenous rights movements.
We understand that environmental issues cannot be separated from human conflict, social justice or from Indigenous rights.
We see Canoe Foundation as a member of a diverse coalition of organizations and campaigns working for the necessary changes to spur solutions to the climate crisis and for respecting Indigenous rights.
We have to be able to see the world differently in order to really create a new world. The thinking comes before the doing, so it’s a mind shift that’s really necessary.
We are hoping that Canoe Foundation can be a bridge between the two sides of the colonial divide. This is a journey of discovery for us. These are complicated issues, both the climate crisis and cultural relationships.
Future generations depend on the climate action we take now.
The past might not be our fault, but the future will be.
We are firm believers that no matter how dark, scary, or chaotic this world can be, there will always be light, love, and peace awaiting to be discovered in the darkness.
